A Busy Day

Dear Readers,
This afternoon we went to the computer lab to type our power point slides for our solar system part that we were suppose to have information. Next, we went to make a special gift for our parents. Shshshsh, we are not suppose to tell anyone yet.
Some of us need to find more information about our solar system part. We are going to start our photo story on Wednesday for those who are ready with their science information. Our Christmas couplets are coming along. And our angel puzzle looks pretty.

Dear Readers,
Today we had A.V.C. classes such as art and Spanish. In art, we made pictures of the middle ages. In Spanish, we received our quiz back. What good work we did on it ! Then we watched a movie in Spanish about a little boy who wanted a Christmas tree and a dinosaur. Finally, we got to color our Santa Clause picture and sing Feliz Navidad.

Trip to Mars

Dear Readers,
These are some pictures of who we saw on our trip to Mars today. One thing the scientists said when we were on our trip was if you make a mistake to learn from it and try again and do it differently. Girls are needed to work on space projects as much as boys are needed. Sally Ride was one female astronaut they mentioned. N.A.S.A. needs us!

Interesting Events

Dear Readers,
Today Charlie wrote back to us and told us that he is older than a sea turtle. We need to find out how old a sea turtle can be. We saw a movie about Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is her feast day today. She appeared to Juan Diego in Guadalupe, Mexico in the year 1531. Check our paper out tonight that is all about that story.
We are continuing to learn about advent. Today we put a picture of a temple on the Jesse tree. Ask us about that story. In the gym we had an advent prayer service.
We took a short trip to Mars. Ask us what we learned. We met an astronaut. Then we wrote about our planet on the computer. Our photo story is started!

An Exciting Day

Dear Readers,
Today we learned about St. Nicholas and received candy from him. How exciting it was for us when we heard the bells!
Jerry, the cafeteria elf, brought his wife, but he didn't come today. Charlie, our elf, was still on the flag when we got to the classroom but then he moved to the back of the room when we went to 2A's room for the St. Nicholas movie.
When we did our math, we used our Math Copy Book. After our Math Copy Book, girls that were done practiced on I.X.L. and First in Math on the net books. Then we practiced our cursive uti connected together in our Handwriting workbook. After lunch we went to dance and then listened to a story about how Santa got his job which was very funny.

Elf Magic

Dear Readers,
Today Charlie, the elf, pinned himself to the bulletin board to hold himself on the flag. The elf in the cafeteria, Jerry, was sitting on the spoon dispenser and flew inside the light and broke it when he came down. The elves were very active!
We learned how to connect cursive u to cursive i and cursive t. In religion we made an Advent Wreath to hand in the hallway.

Our, Interesting, Awesome-Fun Day

Dear Readers,
Today we learned about amphibians. Amphibians include salamanders, toads, and frogs. We learned that amphibians can adapt to live anywhere. The live webcast from the Smithsonian National Zoo taught us about these amphibians. What fun we had learning about amphibians through the computer with real biologists!
We began our day with coloring an Advent Wreath. In math, we played a place value game that we are going to show our parents how to play tonight.
In our classroom, we have a new friend called Charlie the Elf on the Shelf.  He brought his Christmas friends like some snowmen, Santa, a Christmas frog, a tree, and JOY snowmen. We have snow on top of our classroom closets and perhaps that is why Charlie came back this year.
